cram schools

Japanese: じゅく

A cram school is a type of school school-age children go to for further education other than regular school, especially after school and weekends, or their long term holidays. Cram schools are run by enterprises, and tuition fees could be very expensive, but it is extremely common in Japan that school-age children to study there.
